Did you see the Retrogreen Living car at Dearborn's Homecoming? The car is a Zastava 750 - built in 1978 and registered in Ljubljana, Slovenia (former Yugoslavia). The engine is a 750 cc as the name suggests, and it gets around 57 mpg! It was built from the early '60s until the early '80s at a plant in Kragojevac, Serbia.
The diminutive size and fuel economy made the little car a favorite with generations of Yugoslavs, who had to pay a lot for fuel. The cars are more commonly known as "Fico" (pronounced "feecho") referring to their similarity to the Fiat 500, the Italian car from which the design was borrowed.
